Building Wildfire Resilience Across Southern Colorado

Southern Colorado Fire Resilience Partnership exists to connect the dots—between funding and action, planning and implementation, agencies and landowners—so that impacts are amplified and resources are used effectively.

Practical. Local. Collaborative. Action-oriented.

After: Wildfire mitigation work completed in Ute Valley Park, Colorado Springs. Previously continuous ladder fuels were strategically reduced into smaller, discontinuous islands, interrupting vertical and horizontal fuel continuity. This treatment lowers wildfire intensity and spread potential while supporting improved forest structure and long-term ecosystem health.

Why Fire Resilience Matters

Southern Colorado faces increasing wildfire risk due to climate conditions, vegetation buildup, and expanding development in fire-prone areas. Proactive, collaborative action is essential to protect lives, property, and landscapes.
